No Doubt!

Okay so for those of you who know me know I'm a huge No Doubt fan! So after waiting for about 13 years I finally went to see them in concert. You see when I wanted to go see them in High School with some friends my mom wouldn't let me. She now says, "Hmm, I don't know why I didn't let you go". Talk about putting salt in the wound! I've seen Gwen perform twice but this was No Doubt back again and they exceeded my expectations. They were awesome! We had a fabulous time. Ramon got the tickets knowing I wouldn't want to miss it. The Sounds and Paramore opened. Paramore was really good too. So thank you to my thoughtful loving husband for letting me sing along to every song they played in his ear. I had a BLAST!

Peace of Mind

Monday we had Sawyer's appt. at Shriners in L.A. After 3 hours of driving and another 3 hours to see the Dr. we found out we've got a normal little girl! Sawyer's feet are fine and she will grow out of the way she walks. This has been such a relief and has given us much peace of mind. She was so good the whole drive there and back and throughout the wait of our appt. She is so compliant with every Dr. we see. She just lays there and let's them do whatever without any complaint. We feel so truly blessed by God's grace and the beautiful gifts he's given us! Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers!

What a day for "DK"

Dakota's Wednesday started off with trip to Valley Children's Hospital. She had, what we've been praying to be her last Ultrasound and Cystogram procedure. She has Vesicoureteral Reflux. This is when some of her urine goes back up into the ureters and possibly up to the kidneys which can lead to infection. We've been keeping a watch on this for the last 3 yrs. when she had one UTI at about one and a half years old. She did AWESOME to say the least. She had to have a cathedar and was so brave. The Dr's. in their Imaging Department are great! From what they could tell me they didn't see anything leading us to believe she has outgrown it. We'll know for sure at her follow-up appt. in July.
So that leads us to her next "appointment". We told her after her procedure we would go get her ears pierced. She was more than ecstatic! They pierced them and as Ramon would say "she took it like a champ!" She makes sure to remind me when we need to clean them and how many times.
Lastly, that night she had her AWANAS ceremony. She went up and received her certificate and they had a celebration for her Cubbies class.
We are beyond proud of her. She's growing up so fast we can't believe it!

Second Child Syndrome

Is there a name for it? Maybe it's "second child syndrome". I don't know, but whatever it is, Sawyer has it! She is definitely different than her sister was at this age and maybe it's because she has an older sister to look up to. She wants to do any and everything like Dakota. She's also in her own little world. We'll catch her off to the side dancing, twirling, talking in her own funny language making the oddest faces. She's quite the character and has us laughing all the time! Today at lunch time she looks at me with this worried face and points to her nose. Then she starts whining, sticking her finger up it. So I looked up her nose and sure enough, there's half of a goldfish up there. So I grabbed the flashlight and told her to blow her nose. After about four tries it came out, thank goodness! Let's hope there's no trips to the ER in our future.

Life's a Beach!

Last Friday Ramon took the day off and we headed over to Pismo with the girls. We wanted a day to see the ocean and let the girls play in the sand. Sam, Therese and their girls were there for the weekend. They met up with us and the kids had a blast. We definitely need to do this more often. It was fun, relaxing and a great excuse to eat some Splash.

Third Opinion

So here we are again! For those of you that don't know, we've been concerned with Sawyer's feet. They turn in a little, especially the left one. We voiced our concern with her pediatrician before she was walking and at her 12mo. appt. and she wasn't concerned with it. When we took her for her 18mo. appt. it was then that her ped. referred us to a local podiatrist. She was ready to have "Soy" fitted for shoes that are attached to a metal bar that she'd sleep with. When I called to see if her equipment was ready the Dr. didn't think that was the right solution and then referred us to Valley Children's. After 10 min. at that appt. the orthopaedic said she'd be fine and grow out of it. Well that just didn't sit well with me. So after talking to my chiropractor he suggested looking into Shriner's Hospital in L.A. So we now have an appt. at Shriner's in May. I pray that we receive a better answer to what's going on with Soy's feet if anything at all. We'll keep you posted!

Easter

Waiting patiently in the garage for the hunt to start

Easter Egg Hunt at Papa & Nanny's Saturday

Easter Morning

Easter Celebration at Vava's

The Easter festivities started on Friday. We took the girls to Papa & Nana's to dye eggs. They had so much fun dying and decorating their eggs with sparkles and stickers, etc.
The next morning we returned to Papa & Nana's where the girls went on an easter egg hunt. Vivian was there with us and instead of hunting eggs she helped Therese and I hide them. She's getting so big. Our church offers a Saturday evening Easter service so we attended that one. The next morning we headed out to Woodlake for an Easter celebration at Karen's house (Sam's mom a.k.a. "Vava"). All the kids and cousins were out there, they had an easter egg hunt, went swimming and ate lots of great food. Poor Sawyer missed most of it due to a 3 hour long nap. We had a lot of fun! Easter didn't stop there for the girls. Their Grandma Linda came by on Monday and surprised the girls with Easter bags. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!
